Foo Fighters have announced more 2025 show dates, while still staying silent on who the drummer that will be joining them is.
The band is set to play three dates this October: Jakarta, Indonesia on October 2nd, Tokyo on October 7th, before playing Osaka, Japan on the 10th.
The new dates come shortly after the Foos announced their first gig for the year at the Singapore Grand Prix on October 4th. The news of course also comes just days after now-former-drummer Josh Freese announced he’d been fired from the band.
Foo Fighters announced the new dates on social media last night (May 20th) and people have been quick to jump to the comments to ask about the drummer.
“Who’s drumming lol,” reads the first comment.
“It’s alright, Dave can play guitar, drums, and sings at the same time,” wrote someone else.
While another person commented, “So are these going to be acoustic…”

It’s clear that fans are wanting some official word from the band about why Freese was let go, and who’s set to take his place.
A bunch of people reckon it could be Taylor Hawkins’ son Shane taking on the sticks. These rumours were heightened after a drummer and educator from New Zealand, Stan Bicknell, chimed in on the conversation.
He recently shared a message to his Instagram story, writing: “I’ve just been informed, they’ve gone with Shane… 🤐”
With a follow up story saying, “But you didn’t hear it here ;) 🤫”

With over 151,000 Instagram followers and big pull in the drumming scene, Bicknell’s cryptic post has caused even more speculation around Shane possibly joining the band.
Shane appeared alongside Foo Fighters for a few performances, including both of Taylor’s tribute gigs where he performed ‘My Hero,’ and also appeared onstage with them last year in London for ‘I’ll Stick Around.’
Fans have mixed feelings about the speculation - some think it would be a nice continuation of his dad’s legacy, while others argue that it’s not yet the right time for the 18-year-old drummer.
