Ozzy Osbourne in ‘heavy training’ for upcoming Back to the Beginning gig

"I'm waking up my body"

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed how he’s preparing for his and Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning concert (Which by the way, we could be sending you to!)

Speaking on the latest episode of SiriusXM’s Ozzy Speaks, Ozzy’s co-host and good mate Billy Morrison told the Prince of Darkness how good he was looking, to which Ozzy responded:

“Well, I’m in heavy training for this Aston Villa thing that’s coming up. I haven’t done anything for, jeez, it’s gonna be seven years, and so I’ve been through all this surgery. It really is like starting from scratch.”

As you’ll probably already know - Ozzy has been battling with a bunch of health issues, including spinal injuries and Parkinson’s Disease over the last few years, and has previously said he “can’t walk much now.”

As for what kind of training the metal legend has been doing in the lead up to the gig, he said he’s been doing endurance training to help with his stamina.

“The first thing to go when you’re laid up is your stamina, so believe it or not, I’m doing two sets of three-minute walks a day and weight training. I’ve got to get going, you know.

“I’m waking up my body. I mean, three minutes for you, for instance, is nothing, but I’ve been laying on my back recovering from umpteen surgeries,” he told Morrison.

Ozzy has openly shared how frustrating his health issues have been for him and how keen he’s been to get back onstage, and now, it finally looks like he’s on the path back to doing what he loves most - performing live.

The Back to the Beginning concert is gonna be mega. Keep listening out from 6am til 6pm every day, be the first caller through when you hear the boarding call, and you’re in the draw. We’ll call the winner Friday 2nd May!
