Kiwi DJ Lady Shaka and her Pacific Island collective to take stage at Gastonbury 2025

“Opening international pathways for Māori and Pacific artists”

Over the weekend, Aotearoa’s very finest announced their debut at the one and only Glastonbury!

Not one. Not two. Not three - but six different NZ acts link with Lady Shaka in making the Glasto line-up. The DJ and producer took to Instagram with the hella exciting news.

It’s an honour to make history as the first Pacific Island collective to curate at @glastofest.

Lady Shaka writes.

This moment has been a long time coming and I am so happy we are finally opening international pathways for Māori and Pacific artists to share their taonga with the world.

Joining Lady Shaka on the Shangri-La Stage is Poppa Jax, Katayanagi Twins, Dj K-Swizz, Allyxpress, Keke and lastly Mokotron who has been making waves in the industry lately.

The Pulotu Underground collective took hold of the recent Boiler Room Aotearoa, with Lady Shaka chatting to George Breakfast about their philosophies. From wanting to create opportunities for other Māori DJs to putting the South Pacific on the map.

Three of the acts flying over to the UK festival (Poppa Jax, Katayanagi Twins and Mokotron) also saw themselves on the Boiler Room show last year.

Kiwis aren’t new to the whole Glasto experience either. Last year we saw Kiwi DJ prodigy Messie over in the UK mixing up a storm alongside Lady Shaka.

The talent in New Zealand is off the charts and we are always so excited to see our people venture into the big leagues.

Big ups whānau!
