Very sad news dropped this morning! Our very own Producer T-Putea announced he’s leaving us.
T-Money, aka T-Putea, aka White Tiger (reow reow), has decided, after three solid years, to move on from Mai FM for an exciting opportunity as a Producer on a different airwave.
“It was a really hard decision. It wasn't like it [the opportunity] came through, and I was like 'yep time to go'. It came through and I sat a few people down, and talked to bosses and tried to figure out what the right move was,” Troy explained.
This just felt like the right time.
"You know, you always want to leave somewhere better than where you found it. The show, the Mai whānau - we’re in such a great place that I feel good leaving it the way it is,” he added.
Although we’re so sad to let him go, we’re so proud of him, and grateful for everything he’s contributed during his time with the Mai Morning Crew and wider Mai whānau.
T-Money really proved he’s the BEST of the best, taking out Best Producer in New Zealand not once, but TWICE, with one of those wins being just last year.
That’s a true testament to who he is and how incredibly hard he works.
We will all miss you so much white tiger!
Producer T-Money’s final show will be next Wednesday, April 16th.
