Fashion

Want a wardrobe refresh or clear out? This buy-and-sell app is your new best friend.

I’ll no longer gatekeep this one.

The list is endless as to why we should get behind recycling our clothes and consciously buying second-hand - It’s sustainable, easier on your wallet, plus you can even make a bit of moola off the stuff you haven’t worn in ages.

If Depop hasn’t hit your radar yet, let me introduce you…

think of Depop as the lovechild of Instagram and TradeMe, but make it fashion. The app’s super easy to use and, honestly, kind of addictive.

You create a profile, snap some pics of your clothes, write a little blurb about the item, set a price, and BOOM, you’re in business, baby.

It's basically your own little online thrift shop.

And if you’re in the mood to shop instead, it’s just as easy. You can scroll curated feeds, search for specific brands or styles, and even DM sellers directly if you’ve got any questions.

One of the coolest things about Depop, IMO, is the whole aesthetic.

You can find vintage gems, Y2K throwbacks, stylish asf streetwear, designer dupes, and one-of-a-kind pieces you’d never spot in just any store these days.

Just look at these red and white striped vintage Jeans I scored - no chance you’d find these anywhere at the mall!

Plus, heaps of sellers actually put real effort into how they present their listings, so it can be less chaotic to scroll through.

And between us - Depop only takes a 10% cut, which is one of the lowest fees I’ve seen compared to other resell sites, with Designer Wardrobe at 12.95%. Resale sites like Facebook Marketplace are fun, but you’re way more susceptible to being scammed, unfortunately. Depop = safe and sound.

So if you’re looking to spice up your style without breaking the bank - and do the planet a wee favour while you’re at it - get yourself on Depop.
