How to cure a hangover fast: The three-ingredient drink backed by science

And an easy snack to boost the results.

There’s plenty of crooked suggestions out there to deal with a punishing hangover, but turns out there’s a simple - and tasty option proven by science.

Forget the greasy fry-ups, a 2019 study reckons your best way to tackle a rough day after drinking is a little more fruity mocktail than anything you’d tuck into after a big night.

According to the journal ‘Current Research In Food Science’, a mix of pear juice (65%), sweet lime juice (25%), and coconut water (10%) could be your ticket to bouncing back - and avoiding the horrid headaches that take you out for at least a good day after drinking.

Sure, it might not hit like a bacon sammy or a bucket of wicked wings, but the science behind it might just convince ya.

This combo gives your body its best chance at avoiding a prolonged hangover “by enhancing either alcohol dehydrogenase and aldehyde dehydrogenase activities”.

Or in simpler terms - gives your body’s booze-processing enzymes a boost, helping break down alcohol faster and stopping that nasty stuff called acetaldehyde from building up in your liver.

Scientists reckon pairing your hangover mocktail with cheese, tomato, and cucumber might help even more because they’re full of nutrients to support your liver.

If you wanna know what to avoid at all costs - I hate to break it to you - you’ll need to ditch he coffee, eggs and even oats.

Turns out coffee does the total opposite for your enzymes and can even prolong your pain the next day.

The same goes for spices like pepper, nutmeg and cinnamon.

So next time you're feeling dusty as, remember this easy bevvy and snack combo - it might just revive ya!
