‘Married At First Sight Australia’ bride Sierah Swepstone is opening up about the toll the show took on her – and it’s pretty heavy stuff.
After posting a series of emotional Instagram Stories last week where she claimed she was “silenced” during filming and hinted that people involved “caused her harm”, Sierah has now shared even more about her experience.
In her earlier post, she said the five weeks she spent filming the show left her “broken”, adding: “I was silenced in the media because the truth was a liability. The people who caused me harm have controlled the narrative for long enough. I will speak soon.”
In a fresh update, Sierah responded to a fan who asked if she’d do it all again, or if she regrets doing ‘MAFS’ altogether.
“If I knew I would be treated like my life didn’t matter, I obviously never would have done it because it’s left me with PTSD,” she said in an Instagram Story.

She went on to explain what that’s looked like for her – from struggling to sleep and being kept awake by nightmares, to a loss of appetite, drinking more, and withdrawing socially.
“I don’t like saying I regret something because I can’t take it back,” she added.
“I try to be optimistic and maintain the belief that everything happens for a reason, and I just haven’t found the reason yet.”
She also cleared up why she bailed partway through the MAFS 2025 reunion.
ICYMI - things got heated after Awhina called out some messages Sierah had apparently sent about her to her onscreen hubby, Adrian Araouzou. Things got tense, and Sierah ultimately ended up walking out of the final dinner party.
“After being attacked by four people at the reunion, I had a severe anxiety attack and hyperventilated, which is why I actually left,” she alleged.

Apparently expert John Aiken later told her backstage that she handled the situation well.
Sierah also shared that MAFS expert Mel Schilling had allegedly apologised to her after filming wrapped, acknowledging just how rough her experience on the show had been.
she recalled having a full-on “trauma response” during filming at one point – so intense that she was removed from set and said the whole thing left her feeling “violated”.
“I’ll continue slaying as much as possible day by day until I can see the greater purpose in everything.”
So far, Channel Nine, other contestants, nor the experts have not responded to Sierah’s claims.
