Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy shares heartbreaking last conversation before his death

"It brings me this mixture of pain and peace."

Liam Payne's girlfriend has recalled her final conversation with the late singer before his shock death.

The music world was devastated in October last year when the One Direction star plunged to his death at the age of 31 by falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Now Kate Cassidy, who dated the singer for two years before his shock death, has shared her final conversation with him before he tragically died.

Appearing on the 'On Purpose' podcast on Wednesday, the 26-year-old Influencer has recalled bidding him farewell before his death.

She recounted: "On the last day in Argentina, my car was in the driveway, and we went back into the guest house, grabbed my suitcase and we were sitting on the couch and I just kept going on and on and on about how much I love him and how much he means to me.

And he laughed and he interrupted me, and he just said, 'Kate, you're gonna miss your flight ... You're acting like this is the last time you're ever gonna see me again.'

She continued: "I think when I think about the last day and the last words that we said to each other, it brings me this mixture of pain and peace.

"We'd just bought a new house. We just got a dog. We just moved to America as well. I mean, I was living in England with him for two years...

"It was just all these new beginnings, and it was in just such a positive light. So I remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on, and saying to Liam how much I love him."

Payne's sister has marked the six-month anniversary of his death by sharing a heartbreaking statement.

She wrote: "Six months, half a year without you?!

"My head is still screaming for you. Each morning on waking, I feel like I am plunged underwater, gasping for air that never comes to relieve me.

"Living without you is impossible, so for now, I exist. I'm learning to laugh or smile in the right places, but mate, it's exhausting when all I want to do is speak to you."

She continued: "I can't process what's happened and the finality of it, you know I will never stop doing all I can for you.

"I miss you loudly, quietly and in all the moments in between. Love you so much more than these words or my tears are capable of expressing but I know you know this. For now, I'll meet you in my dreams."

Payne was survived by eight-year-old son Bear, who he shared with ex-girlfriend Cheryl Tweedy, 41.
