It was recently announced that we wouldn’t be getting Grand Theft Auto VI til next year - but now, we have a new trailer to sink our teeth into in the meantime.
Rockstar Games dropped the brand new trailer this morning, which shows us more about the fictional couple introduced to us in the first trailer released in 2023 - Jason and Lucia.
The new trailer shows Jason - a former troubled teen who joined the army and then returned back to crime - doing odd jobs and driving around Vice City.
He eventually collects Lucia from prison, who we learn has just finished serving time for “protecting her family,” before the trailer launches into montage scenes showing their relationship, armed heists, partying on a yacht, and of course, a whole lot of criminal activity.
The game is set in the fictional town of Leonida, the Florida-inspired region featuring locations like the neon-lit beachfront, the Everglades-inspired Grassrivers swamps, the Leonida Kayes, Port Gellhorn, and Kalaga National Park. All home to various crime groups like biker gangs and the “hillbilly mystics.”
“Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” an official description reads.
“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida - forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
We’re also introduced to a wide cast of characters, like bank robber Raul Bautista, smuggler Brian Heder, and rap-duo Real Dimez.
While the trailer doesn’t show gameplay, it certainly shows off some epic cinematic sequences and highlights its impressive graphics.
The trailer finishes with the release date: May 26th, 2026.
So, we’ve still got a while to wait, but if this trailer’s anything to go by, I reckon it'll be worth it.
